JUDY TARNOFSKY

Biography:

I love to paint things that excite me visually and as such, am inspired by the Impressionist and Post Impressionist painters. Like them, I strive to create works of art filled with colour and light but most important of all, are a pleasure to look at. My work covers a broad range of subject matter from portraiture and figurative works to landscapes, still life/florals and abstracts. Oils and acrylics are my primary mediums.

I received my Bachelor of Arts and Fine Arts Degrees from Concordia University, my Teaching Diploma from McGill University, both in Montreal and am an OCT (Ontario Certified Teacher). I studied art at OCAD University in Toronto and my work has been included in group and juried exhibitions and is in homes both in Canada and the United States.

Over the years, I have pursued careers both in education and business. In addition to teaching in Montreal and Toronto, I spent several years in Advertising & Promotion, Graphic Design, and Executive Recruitment for Information System Technology. Currently, I divide my time between my art and teaching.
