Art has been part of my whole life. My earliest painting which hung in my childhood home forever was painted in kindergarten. Art was my elective in high school for five years. Even in high school I was selected to spend Saturday mornings studying painting with the renowned artist Aba Bayefsky at the Ontario College of Art. However, coming from an academic family, my art was never encouraged and after university, graduate school and teachers college I became a secondary history and social science teacher for over 33 years. I loved my profession and my wonderful students, yet my soul craved for some release.
I took one year away from my work to pursue four courses in art at the Toronto School of Art. With restricted time comprised of marriage, work and raising a family, I could only dabble in my art until my retirement in 2002. From 2002 on, I have further loved and developed my painting with selected courses in portrait and figure painting, acrylics, oils and watercolour at the Toronto School of Art , the Avenue Road School of Art , Haliburton Art school and private courses with selected instructors whose work I admire .
My work is displayed in private homes, commercial businesses and synagogues. I am available for commissioned work (portraits, photograph renderings, concepts). Art brings wonder to life
