The NYVA truly is an amalgam of different media—acrylic, oil, watercolour, pencil, sculpture, mosaic glass, textiles—
we are from many parts of the world (Spain, Iran, Hungary, Ireland to name a few) and we bring these perspectives
and sensibilities to our art.
We are an intimate group of artists with a variety of ages, ranging from our 30s to 80s. Emerging artists, mid-career artists, professional artists, all mingle together and share ideas and techniques.
Our language of art is as individual as our language at home. Yet we are all North York artists, and we are all part of that wonderful game called “art”.
This is our direction, our commonality. Our diversity is our common theme as you can see—our differing approaches are part of the unique flavour of NYVA.

In this, our tenth year, we are considering the growth and development of NYVA. We are currently reviewing the size of our membership; discussing the feasibility of an increase in membership while maintaining the friendly and welcoming atmosphere that is NYVA.
Our meetings generally take the form of demonstrations by well known artists and include interactive discussion.
Much of the benefit of membership derives from networking with other members, informal discussion and the exchange of knowledge and ideas. A Studio Tour & public Exhibitions also form an important part of our activity.
We meet on the third Wednesday of every month from September to May at 7:00pm , in Room 123 of the Edithvale Community Centre, corner Finch Avenue & Edithvale Ave. in North York.
