Sharon Erlichman

"I am attracted to colour, light
and texture in nature..."

Biography:

I have been painting in acrylics since 2000 and am continuing my independent studies with various artists throughout Ontario.

I have recently been using acrylic paints as a watercolour medium with a focus in abstraction. The creativity and spontaneity involved in abstraction is a very freeing and empowering process.

Various techniques are used in my abstracts. I typically work without a brush and pour my paints using a variety of items such as sponges, spatulas, etc.

I am attracted to colour, light and texture in nature and always try to reflect these aspects in my indoor paintings and “outdoor art” murals.

Having grown up on the Canadian prairies, specifically Saskatchewan, the feeling of light and space and of course, “sky” is my current focus in my landscape paintings.

The Laurentian Mountains in Quebec also offer me endless inspiration for my forest/nature scenes and spectacular fall foliage. Between the two contrasting geographies there are endless creative opportunities to pursue.
