Biography:
Mary Therese Carmichael is known for her beautiful florals and landscapes, both in watercolour and oils. Mary Therese is an accomplished portrait painter, following in her father's footsteps. Her landscapes adorn the walls of many prominent homes and commercial institutions in Toronto and the U.S.A.
She has received awards from the Toronto Watercolour Society, the Willowdale Group and the North York Visual Artists. Some of her collections include: The granite Club; Whitecap Canada Ltd; T.K.O. Industries Ltd; Easylease Financial Services Inc; FMC of Canada Ltd. and C.W. Smith Crane Ltd.
Accomplished in different mediums, Mary Therese also paints in many different styles. This perhaps, comes from the fact she has taught both adults and children in her Agincourt studio for over thirty years. In fact hundreds of students have passed through her studios and have been mentored by her skilled and insightful brush. Some of her students have gone on to very successful artistic careers of their own.
A mother of five sons, Mary Therese is married and lives with her husband Don in Toronto, Ontario. When not painting or teaching art, she has been retained as an interior decorator for a number of clients in and around the Toronto area, and has been doing this for the past eighteen years.
