Biography:
Eric Bornstein has been enjoying the art of photography for many years. The early years of making images were devoted to recording the growth of his family. Thus, there are 40 some albums of children, parents and grandparents in all manner of poses and venues. Once this phase had passed, Eric turned his photography to an understanding of the environment around him. The urgency in the photography is to capture that particular moment, whether it is an image of people or a piece of a whole. The objective of Eric in his photographs is to elicit an emotion through the use of colour, perspective, line, shape, texture and movement.
Eric is primarily self taught, using trial and error, the study of images of others and reading the wonderful photography magazines that are available. In addition Eric has attended Haliburton School of The Arts where the courses were the making of images followed by critiques in a classroom setting.
